New study affirms ice-sheet-loss estimates in Greenland, Antarctica – The Washington Post.

Lara Kruiskamp, from South Africa, is running the 2013 Antarctic Marathon to raise support for the ongoing work of Oceanites’ Antarctic Site Inventory project. As our followers are aware, the Inventory remains the only nongovernmental, publicly supported, scientific research project working in Antarctica — monitoring penguin population changes in the markedly warming Antarctic Peninsula.
